Neighbourhood Homes is operated by Local Media Concepts Inc. ("we", "us"), 2044 Dovercourt Avenue, Ottawa ON K2A 0X1. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

The short version: we collect only what we need to sell, build and support your home's website. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number. We don't sell your personal information. This website (neighbourhood.homes) uses no advertising trackers.

What we collect

When you buy a site

Payment details are handled by Stripe. When you pay, you enter your card or wallet details directly into Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
What we receive. Stripe shares with us the details we need to fulfil and support your order, such as your name, your email address, what you bought, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded or was refunded.
Your order. The home address and web address you chose, and your receipt.

When you contact us

If you email or call us, we keep your message and contact details so we can respond and keep a record of what was agreed.

Listing information

To build a home's site, we use the facts and photos from the home's public real estate listing, with photos credited to the brokerage. We take a site down if the listing agent or brokerage asks.

This website

neighbourhood.homes is a simple informational site. It does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it delivers them.

How we use it

To process your order, build and publish your home's website, and register its web address.
To send receipts, answer questions and handle refunds.
To keep records we're required to keep by law, for example for tax purposes.
To prevent fraud and keep our services secure.

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for unrelated purposes without your consent.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need:

Stripe, to process payments and refunds.
Our domain registrar and hosting providers, to register web addresses and host sites. Domains are registered in Local Media Concepts Inc.'s name, not yours.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada (for example, in the United States), where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep order and payment records for as long as we need them to provide the service and as required by Canadian tax and business law, then delete or anonymize them.

Keeping it safe

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limit access to personal information to people who need it to do their work.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent for uses that aren't required to complete your order or meet legal obligations. Email [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject line and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
